Amanzingwe Bush Lodge: Today was a day to remember as the Office of the Premier embarked on a journey of self discovery by taking part in Enigma Adventure movie making team building activity called – Afriwood.

After enjoying a wonderful breakfast prepared by the chefs of Amanzingwe, the group joined Stephan Lindeque for their teambuilding session. With great enthusiasm the group took all the instructions that were given to them to start formulating ideas for their movies that they had to create from scratch.

Facing the daunting task of creating a script, picking the right people for the roles and then directing and filming their movies, didn’t intimidate any of the participants.

With pen in hand and the teams headed out to start sharing their ideas and within minutes the groups had their ideas formulated into a workable storyline that would form the basis of their movie. The team spirit was electric and it was great to hear the members of the groups burst out in laughter as one of their members would do something with their props they wouldn’t normally do.

It is something to appreciate when people use their props, how they lose their fear of embarrassing themselves. There is something about hiding behind a mask that makes people show their true colours and that is why Afriwood is such a great activity. Not only does the activity do great things for your personal self esteem but it also addresses the following:

-          Communication

-          Planning

-          Conflict management

-          Free thinking

-          Stress management

-          Presentation

With the limited time to their disposal the teams literally ran all over the show to make their respective movies a production to remember. Believe me they were something to remember as we watched the uncut and unedited versions of their movies.

With their voting ballads counted and the teams waiting in anticipation Stephan announced the winners in the following categories:

-          Best camera

-          Best actor

-          Best actress

-          Best movie

There is nothing more gratifying than seeing winners truly appreciating their prizes. The Office of the Premier again didn’t disappoint us in this regard. Screams from their teams and jumps of joy showed us just why we can make this stamen. They where spectacular!

This was truly an event that the members of Enigma Adventures will remember for a very long time.
